This Is Just The Beginning

Hello!

I am beyond thrilled that you chose to check out my blog and I can't wait to connect with you!

The reason I started this blog was because I was in despair and I wanted to find a way to make money while still being able to keep a work schedule that's flexible to my lifestyle. I know that's not the best way to start a blog, hoping it will pay for things you need so you can have a flexible lifestyle and be your own boss, but I wanted to keep my schedule so badly that I was willing to try something that only a few people have success with.

Alright, time to pause for a honesty outburst. I didn't want to write about how I looked to this blog for a fast trip to solving my dilemma of finding the perfect career. I wanted to let people read what I have to say and share their experiences without ever knowing that my initial intention was to get money/famous quickly.

Now you know my harsh truth. I expect there to be many people who never read this again and continue on with their lives. Why would anyone want to read my blog and help me get further in my career when they have better things to do? To be honest, I have no idea. The "easy" way was my initial intention, but let me give you a back story as to how this idea to create a blog actually started.

One day during our workout, my workout partner (also my best friend) and I were talking and she looked at me and said, "Lauren, if money weren't a problem, what would be your dream job?". I've been asked this question many times, but when she said it, I actually believed it. I believed that I could chase my dream and not worry about the money and how I would pay for bills, and insurance, and gas, and even food. So, I paused for a moment and told her that I want to help people and that I would love to be a positive influence on social media since it is such a big part of our lives. There are so many different voices and pictures online that we look at probably more than three times a day. These images and posts can be amazing and uplifting, but there are also many that can be detrimental to us. It's not that I don't think people have the right intentions when posting pictures of their amazing trip or posting about how awesome their relationship is, I just think there needs to be more realistic people on social media and there needs to be people who speak truth to each other.

I created this blog so that I can do just that. I want to be able to speak truth into peoples lives the way God intended. I want to be able to look beyond social media and beyond the filters that are presented to us and to be able to tell you about a God who loves you right where you're at and doesn't need you to be anybody else besides the person He created you to be.
